Today was a very big day. It was our first day with our newest charge, Rowan. It was also in a blunder of scheduling, the day of Josh's one year healthy baby check-up, whoops. So I invited Avery and her caregiver, Danielle, over for a playdate. Avery and Cailyn were completely enamored with each other. There was lots of yelling and laughing and arm shaking. They both definitely love their new sitting vantage point. Josh came down to see what all of the commotion was about and got some floor time in with the girls too. We had to prop Cailyn with the couch pillows as Rowan was using the boppy while getting topped off by mama. When Rowan was done and Betsy and Kristina had headed off to work, Danielle and I decided we might not have them all awake again at the same time so it was time for a group photo. Avery never did like the group photo.

Avery is of course doing her best to move on to bigger and better things, like standing and crawling. She hasn't mastered any of them but she is trying. The babies were all very nice to Danielle, and I left for the pediatrician with her listening to three monitors. Good job little ones. For a while Penny almost stayed behind to play, but decided the lure of free stickers was too hard to resist. When we got back Avery was up and had eaten lunch already, and Rowan had just came down from his nap. The sun was out, babies were happy, it was play time! Cailyn took on the job of showing Rowan how the playgym worked, but he quickly became to entranced by his own reflection to listen.
Avery did her best to get her play on, but she hadn't slept as long as the others and just couldn't keep awake much longer. With her second nap looming, and her inability to hold her head up anymore, Danielle got her ready to leave. With one last kiss from Penny, Avery and Danielle headed back to her house to finish out their day. We definitely need to have more playdates, babies everywhere!
